Mountain Caregiver Resource Center serves families and caregivers of persons with adult-onset chronic, disabling brain diseases and disorders.
 

Most services are free and include family consultations and planning, support groups, legal and financial consultation, respite care, training for families and professionals

Eligibility and Counties Served

Caregivers or family members of caregivers caring for a person over the age of 18 with a brain impairment, living in the 9 counties served by Mountain Caregiver Resource Center area are eligible for services.

Mountain Caregiver Resource Center is part of a statewide system of Caregiver Resouce Centers serving families and caregivers of brain impaired adults in Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity counties.

Specialized Information

Providing a central source of information about brain disorders, care options, and services for families and professionals caring for individuals of brain impairment. A comprehensive resource lending library is available for your resource needs. Learn More...

Family Consultation and Care Planning

Consultation is provided by trained professionals through home visits, telephone and office visits. Family Consultants assess problems and needs, explore care options and provide information to caregivers and family members.

Support Groups

Support Groups provide monthly meetings in a supportive atmosphere to share experiences and ideas to ease stress of caregiving. Learn More...

Family and Professional Training

Workshops are provided on a variety of topics for caregivers, family members and professionals. Topics may include stress management, legal and financial issues, diagnosis, treatments and long-term care planning. Learn More...

Short Term Counseling

Short term counseling is available through private licensed counselors for caregivers and family members, who need assistance with problem identification and solution exploration.

Legal and Financial Consultation

Personal consultation with an attorney on estate and financial planning, conservatorship and other related matters.

Respite Programs

Subsidies for in-home care, day care, short term or weekend care and transportation to assist families in caring for a brain-impaired adult at home. Learn More...

Community respite social day programs offer activities for adults with memory loss and confusion. The program offers adults with memory impairments an opportunity to engage in social and recreation activities designed specifically for them in a friendly and secure setting, and the chance for family caregivers to get away from caregiving responsibilities.
