Respite services alleviate the stress of caregiving and extends the family's ability to provide care by providing services to the brain-impaired adult, which, in turn, provides relief from caregiving tasks for the caregiver.
Types of Respite Services available at Mountain Caregiver Resource Center:
Mountain Caregiver Resource Center has five programs offering social day care for adults with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders serving families in Chester, Corning, Mount Shasta, Red Bluff, and Yreka.
Participants have the opportunity to socialize, exercise, create projects, and enjoy music in a warm caring atmosphere.
Community Respite Programs offer caregivers the opportunity to have time away from caregiving responsibilities. Program staff offer support groups, counseling and resource information to assist caregivers in caring for their family member.
Our caring team is guided by a Program Coordinator who is assisted by trained volunteers. There is a ratio of 1 team member for every 3 participants.
